I started baking when I was 16 years old when I saw my sister successfully take it on as a hobby. I come from a long family line of bakers and figured I’d give it a try! I made very first cake as an attempt to cheer up my dad because our family was going through a hard time, so I wanted it to be a funny cake. The cake was NOT pretty, but it was delicious and it made everybody laugh! I saw in that moment how a creation of mine was enjoyed while creating joy and memories. Through the years, I continued to bake for birthday gifts for my loved ones, study nights in college, and other kinds of get togethers. I have recently decided that I want to expand my clientele of whom I impact with my art and start a business.
I take pride in being a small business and always am looking for ways which I can give back to my community of customers. Please reach out to me with any charity or fundraising needs I can assist with!
In Sylcox Sweet’s First 3 months of business:
-Built a community of 400 customers
-We all worked together to raise around $300 for a fellow customer‘s fundraiser for medical expenses
-Raffled 2 free desserts for fundraiser participation
I have pride in my city and I want to provide the area with the best, top quality, most delicious desserts! I also want to make sure I give back to you and do good in my community to show appreciation. I truly believe that between myself and my customers, we are a community; and it truly takes a village. I am always seeking opportunities to make a difference by holding raffles and fundraisers, and I want everybody who orders from me to have a sense of pride for how they have helped my business grow, and how this has impacted our city and community.
